DTF (direct-to-film) has become our default recommendation for anyone unsure how many shirts they'll actually need. Because there's no screen to burn and no per-colour setup fee, a single custom shirt costs the same to produce as one pulled from an order of five hundred — so you're never forced to over-order just to make the economics work. The transfer film is printed in full CMYK plus white underbase, meaning gradients, photos and fine detail come through cleanly on both light and dark garments, which screen printing struggles with. Once heat-pressed, the finish sits slightly raised off the fabric with a soft-hand feel, and holds up through 40+ home washes without cracking when cared for normally (cold wash, inside-out, avoid the tumble dryer).
